Music....

I just want to firstly state that a lot of this music the style is all born from a certain area and all sampled away all built in Africa. I also wanted to know how come RnB and Hip Hop is not apart of the list?

Disco- Bee Gee's- was a huge group a trio that mad pop music used to dance in the disco. Disco was typically soul-influenced which was very popular in the 70's. the Bee Gee's built of that and made great music in this time period.

House Music - Chip E was an American Dj from Chicago who was a huge stand out in the House Music genre. House music was a huge art of sampling different beats to create your own sound. Amazing music when you sit down and just listen.

Girl Power - DB- Boulevard a group I always find it very important for women to be in music. Being able to here and support empowerment music is important that everyone especially women feel loved. this group really puts that forward.

90's- Village people is an American disco group known for stage costumes and suggestive lyrics. I'm actually really disappointed and the selection recommended for 90's music. Music in the 90's in just about all genres was at its peak. especially hip hop and RnB in which influenced and lot of the music in the 90s. Yes hip hop is mix of many different genres but isn't that what music is.

Techno- The Ones- techno music has always been very interesting to me and listen to a couple songs by this group has closed my interest on the genre. Doing this project has honestly opened my eyes to see how simpler but very different each category of music is. its really all the same.

I look at every class in way where each class has the potential to give me more knowledge which will make me a better human being. My first feelings on this class is a little different then my other classes. I'm still feeling the class out but I am interested in what the semester will hold.

Graft Art

inspired by the sky. as I looked up at the clouds and imagined what if our sky was many different shades of blue and just wasn't the normal sky we see on the daily. what if the sky was whatever I wanted it to be. and this grid is what I came up with. thank you.

Pyotr Tchaikovsky "THE QUEEN OF SPADES"

The Opera I chose is Pyotr Tchaikovsky “The queen of Spades” which premiered in March of 1890 in St. Petersburg Russia. It was an adaption from Alexander Pushkin The Queen of Spades. The Art piece is a three act 7 scene Opera. At the start of the play what caught my eye was how still the people around the main character stood while the first few minutes played out. They stood absolutely still sort of like statues. This adds to the “Mise en Scene”. The Music told the story it guided you through what was going on. When the people finally did start to move it kind of felt like a distraction while they switched up the props and scene to go into what’s next. I’ve never sat down and watched a play in full let along an Opera.  The Opera singing is what is hard for me to understand and pick out what they are saying and the importance to it all. With all the moving pieces and people, it was hard to focus on one thing to really catch on to what is going.  The music guides you ...
